This article covers frequently asked questions about moving from Mastercard to Visa
Q: Will this change affect my existing Mastercard VCCs?
A: No. All active Mastercard VCCs will continue to function normally until they expire or are deactivated.
Q: Will there be any impact on my current API integration?A: Yes, you will need to update your API to reflect the switch from Mastercard to Visa. Changes to card and account selection rules are required to ensure that the correct card type is generated.
Q: Is the pre-approved MCC list different between Visa and Mastercard?
A: No. The pre-approved MCC list remains the same for both Visa and Mastercard. There is no change to accepted MCCs regardless of the scheme.
Q: How will chargebacks be handled under Visa?
A: Chargeback processes will remain largely the same. Visa provides a comparable dispute resolution flow to Mastercard, and we will continue to support you in managing chargebacks and representments.
Q: If I receive a refund or chargeback on my old Mastercard card, will the funds still reach me?
A: Yes. We will continue to process refunds and chargebacks even after the Mastercard program is closed.
Q: Can I still request Mastercard BINs if needed?
A: At this time, we are standardising on Visa BINs. If you have a specific use case that requires Mastercard, please speak with your account manager.
